St. Louis Canoeing with Cave Rappelling Adventure

St. Louis, MI
Canoeing, Rappelling

1 Day

Overview

Cue the background music, “🎵 Just around the river bend… 🎵”, as we imagine Pocahontas on a beautiful summer day, exploring all of nature as it whispers confidences to her from the water. She was definitely onto something: The calmness felt floating weightlessly on top of the water as the sun glistens down on the ripples. Feel the excitement build as all the alluring secrets of the water and those off-limits areas are revealed around each new turn.

Group Canoeing

Why learn to canoe you ask? Well, it’s simple! Canoeing provides an everlasting relationship with nature. As a result, also giving you something you will crave over and over again. Starting at Meramec State Park, paddle a calm 2.5 miles down the Meramec River. When all is said and done paddle back up the same 2.5 miles uncovering all the rivers’ secrets along the way. Now breathe in all the fragrances of the wooded pines as they swaddle you inside the calming sounds of the surrounding wildlife. Instantly feel the exhilaration this peace gives you. 🛶

Cave Rappelling

One stroke after another bringing you closer to something you can’t quite make out in the distance. Finally coming into the foreground will be the mouth of Green’s Cave. In front of you will be this spectacular grande 100-foot archway! In view of this will be sure to take your breath away! Now it’s time to wake those land legs back up as we hike to the top of the arch to free rappel 100 feet all the way down! ✌

Group Picnic Style Lunch

As the boats are docked side by side we join together on the gravel bar for our Group Picnic Lunch. While submerged in the serenity of our surroundings we hear the laughs of SHE-Nanigans from our fellow Explorer Chicks. While carefree and taking time to play a little longer and frolic in the cool stream of the cave. Finally, we will paddle back down the Meramec River finishing up at the Meramec State Park.
