Overview

Get ready for a full day of adventures on the Meramec River in Missouri! Let your inner curious Explorer Chick out to play as you paddle your way down river in search of Green’s Cave. Cue the background music, “🎵 Just around the river bend… 🎵.” Feel the excitement build as all the alluring secrets of the water and those off-limits areas are revealed around each new turn. Before long, you’ll be staring up at the 100′ arched cave mouth and the empty space that you’ll soon fill as you rappel from the top. Yes! You are paddling to free rappel the entrance of the cave. Truly an adventure!

Group Canoeing

Starting at Meramec State Park, paddle a calm 2.5 miles down the Meramec River. Why canoe you ask? Well, it’s simple! Canoeing provides an everlasting relationship with nature. Instantly feel the exhilaration this peace gives you. 🛶 Take in in all the fragrances of the wooded pines as they swaddle you inside the calming sounds of the surrounding wildlife.

100′ Cave Rappel

One stroke after another brings you closer to something you can’t quite make out in the distance. Finally coming into the foreground after paddling downstream 2.5 miles will be the mouth of Green’s Cave. In front of you will be this spectacularly grand 100-foot archway! Of course, you won’t just be admiring it’s beauty from the ground. Heck no! You’ll gear up and wake those land legs to hike to the top of the cave’s entrance. Then comes the FUN part! Muster up the courage to take a few steps off the top to free rappel 100 feet all the way down! ✌ Oh, yeah! You’ll be dangling freely in the air slowly dropping back to ground.

Group Picnic Style Lunch

All that pumping adrenaline can leave a gal HUNGY! With our boats still docked side by side, we gather together on the gravel bar for our Group Picnic Lunch outside the cave entrance. While submerged in the serenity of our surroundings we hear the laughs of SHE-Nanigans from our fellow Explorer Chicks. While carefree and taking time to play a little longer and frolic in the cool stream of the cave.

Finally, we will paddle the remaining 2.5 miles down the Meramec River finishing up at the Meramec State Park.
