In order to secure your reservation a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due at the time of booking. Non-refundable deposit amounts vary by trip and are listed on every trip page in the price section.

Reservations made within the final balance due period will be required to pay the entire trip amount at time of booking. See below for the balance due date schedule.

All guests with unpaid balances will receive automatic email reminders leading up to the due date with a payment link. There are also several options for making payments. Learn more about our payment plans.

The entire balance of your trip is due as stated below based on the duration of your trip.

Failure to pay balance in full by balance due date will result in automatic removal from trip without refund.

Please note that early bird discounts, sale prices, and special offers are only applied to regular-priced trips and cannot be combined with any other promotions, including the New Guest discount.

New Guest discount is valid on first-time bookings ONLY. We reserve the right to cancel your trip for misuse of the new guest discount code.

Explorer Chick wants nothing more than for you to escape on one of our adventures. However, we understand emergencies do occur that may cause you to cancel your reservation.

We encourage all Explorer Chicks to purchase travel insurance to protect your investment. It’s more than coverage for lost luggage or flight delays; it also provides protection if you need to cancel your trip before departure due to a covered emergency. 

Always read your policy carefully to ensure it’s the right fit for you.

Note: Some of our international trips require travel insurance – please check your trip materials for more information.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Refunds will be given as outlined below based on days prior to trip arrival and length of trip.

No exceptions will be granted to our Cancellation policy.

Cancellations by Explorer Chick:

Explorer Chick requires a minimum number of guests before confirming a departure. Every trip page states the minimum number of required guests under the “Logistics” section. A trip is confirmed as soon as our minimum guest count is met.

We reserve the right to cancel trips with inadequate participant attendance, in which case all money paid to Explorer Chick Adventure Co, Inc will be fully refunded.

Some trips require special permits in order to run. (ex. Inca Trail, backpacking trips). If a trip has special permit information, you will find it detailed under the “Logistics” section. Please read this information carefully.

If special use permits are not acquired, then all money paid to Explorer Chick Adventure Co, Inc will be fully refunded.

Do not book any airfare or travel before your trip is confirmed.

Explorer Chick Adventure Co, Inc. CANNOT be held responsible for any personal expenses, such as airline tickets due to changes in itineraries or tour cancellations.

Explorer Chick understands that unforeseen circumstances may require you to transfer or reschedule your reservation to alternative dates.

To accommodate such situations, Explorer Chick has a Trip Transfer Policy. Funds paid on the trip will be transferred as outlined below based on days prior to arrival and the length of the current trip.

Transfer can be made to any scheduled tour.

No exceptions will be granted to our transfer policy.

Travel can be full of surprises – some fun, some… not so much. Flight delays, lost luggage, or a sudden illness can throw off your plans. Travel insurance provides protection in case you have to cancel your trip before departure due to a covered emergency.

Explorer Chick reserves the option to modify trip itineraries at our discretion as necessary due to weather, conditions, illness, injury, group dynamics, or other unforeseen incidents.

Explorer Chick reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a tour participant should such person’s behavior, health, fitness, or mental condition impede the operation of the trip.

Warning – Radical candor incoming: Some women kinda suck. You know the types, and we do not hold space for them in our community.

We have a Zero Tolerance Policy when it comes to Mean Girls and Debbie Downers.

Explorer Chicks are kind, supportive, and welcoming.

If you are a Debbie Downer that loves to complain, do not book an adventure with us. Debbie Downers not only ruin their vacation, but can quickly have an averse effect on everyone else’s trip. Bad attitudes are cancerous to our group dynamics and just disrespectful.

Mean Girls are also invited to stay home. Bullying, egos, and hurtful trash talk is the fastest way to be removed from an adventure. They will not be tolerated.

Our guides are Explorer Chick Advocates. We will remove Debbie Downers and Mean Girls from a trip because the group’s overall experience is our priority – we will not cater to nor bend to please the never satisfied, persistent complainers, meanies, or down right miserable people. (That being said, we understand everyone has a bad day! This happens. We’ll work through it!).

General Sales and Discounts:

Sales and discounts cannot be retroactively applied to a previous booking. They cannot be combined. One discount per guest booking. The highest discount amount will be applied.

Discounts are not applicable to private trips.

New Guest Discount:

Valid on first-time bookings only. Discount applies to regular-priced trips and cannot be combined with other promotions, including early bird discounts or private trips. Discount cannot be retroactively applied to a previous booking. The highest discount amount will be applied.
