Escape to prehistoric Utah where you’ll hike stupid-pretty trails in Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. Wade through the Virgin River below 1,500′ canyon walls in the Narrows. Spend an entire day exploring Bryce Canyon National Park. Ghost the tourists as you wander deep into orange hoodoos. Explore areas of Zion so remote, they can only be reached by rappelling, scrambling, and down-climbing on a beginner-friendly canyoneering route.

Channel your inner Beastmaster as you power up the West Rim Trail, wind through the cool depths of Refrigerator Canyon, and conquer all 21 of Walter’s Wiggles to reach Scout Lookout.

From here, soak in panoramic views of Zion Canyon and the winding Virgin River below. Afterward, dry your pits as you descend the trail to an easier hike around the scenic streams of Upper and Lower Emerald Pools.

Every night you’ll rest your head in Insta-worthy glamping tents bordering Zion National Park. Kick it by the campfire under a diamond sky with goddesses who aren’t afraid to get dirty.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Zion and THE Narrows

Smash down a Lumber-Jill breakfast before meeting your group at 6:30 AM at our Rendezvous Hotel in Las Vegas. There, your Explorer Chick Guides will welcome you with an official orientation before we load up the SHE-nanigan Shuttle for a scenic 2.5-hour transfer to Zion National Park.

Your first drive into Zion is the kind of moment that sticks with you—jaw-dropping, awe-inducing, and definitely drool-worthy. Towering sandstone walls loom overhead as we make our way to gear up for our first adventure: an unforgettable trek through The Narrows.

Wading through copper-hued waterfalls and winding through narrowing canyon walls, we’ll hike upstream to the legendary Wall Street, where sheer cliffs rise dramatically on either side. It’s a real-life portal to another world.

After emerging from the Virgin River, we’ll shuttle to our luxurious glamping digs, the perfect place to unwind. As the sun sets, we’ll settle in around the campfire, swapping stories of the day’s adventures beneath a sky full of stars.

NOTE: Hiking the Narrows is not guaranteed. The Park closes the river to hiking when water levels are high and dangerous. In case of closure, your Explorer Chick guides will have alternative hiking plans.

Day 2 - Bryce Canyon and Hoodoos

It’s a sunup to sundown day in Bryce Canyon. After crushing a hot breakfast, we’ll board the SHE-nanigan Shuttle to cruise the largest collection of hoodoos on Planet Earth. Our big hike of the day starts at the canyon rim overlooking Bryce Amphitheater which can only be described as a mosh pit of rock formations.

We’ll leave the gawking tourists behind to wander deep among the hoodoos on a remote trail. Cull your photo roll to make space for all the stunning scenery Bryce Canyon has to offer.

The rest of our day will be spent exploring the shorter trails in Bryce Park to squeeze out every second of sunlight. On our return to camp, we’ll stop for a hot dinner to silence our gremlin bellies.

Hiking Time: 5 hours

Transfer Time to Bryce Canyon: 1:30 hours

Day 3 - Canyoneering in Greater Zion

The Zion area is home to some of the best slot canyons in the country. Slowly carved by wind and water, these canyons are best explored by scrambling, down-climbing, rappelling, and wading. In the span of 4 hours you’ll conquer 8 rappels with your highest at 70 feet! YOU’RE BASICALLY ON THE COVER OF OUTSIDE MAGAZINE NOW.

This route is perfect for beginners with no experience. Just show up willing to go ALL IN and back off the edge into the canyon. We’ll snap you cheesin’ and score plenty of Glamour Shots as the light dances off the red sandstone walls.

Your afternoon is free. You can decide to tack on another hike in Zion as recommended by your guides, take your bra off back at camp, or catch an epic sunset from the hot tub.

Hiking Distance: 2.3 miles. 459′ gain.
Hiking Time: 4-6 hours plus optional hikes

Day 4 - Hiking Scout Lookout and Goodbyes

Hold those tears back—we have one last epic hike!

It’s an early start as we head back into the park, ready to tackle our final challenge: hiking up all 21 of Walter’s Wiggles to Scout Lookout.

Your legs might burn, but the sweeping views will be worth every step. We’ll pause for a well-earned breather and some photos before descending to a more leisurely trek to the stunning Upper and Lower Emerald Pools, where shimmering waterfalls and serene streams offer the perfect send-off.

SOAK IT ALL IN, GIRL! After a weekend of gnarly hikes, belly laughs, and unbreakable bonds, you’ve earned this high. We’ll hug it out before rolling back to Las Vegas, a 2.5-hour drive filled with reflection, triumph, and just a little well-earned exhaustion.

The courage in your heart—and the adventure still clinging to your boots—will carry you until your next Explorer Chick escapade.

Optional: Day 3 - Jeep Tour

Optional Excursion:
Wanna fill your afternoon with more adventure? You have the option this afternoon to add an off-road Jeep tour. The Jeep tour will include outside guests – not just Explorer Chicks.

Hang on tight as your 4×4 Jeep crawls over boulders and ascends narrow, steep switchbacks before pausing at a beautiful viewpoint. Ascend over 1500 feet and see the breathtaking views of the vast East Zion from Brushy Cove and Elevator Trail. Views of the West Temple, Checkerboard Mesa, the Narrows, and other prominent Zion landmarks are visible from here.

Activity Level

Rated 3 – ACTIVE

This trip is rated Active because of the length and frequency of hiking for all 4 days as detailed below. Canyoneering may prove challenging to those who are weary of heights. The canyoneering portion involves 8 rappels up to 70 feet high. It is a beginner friendly route.

Daily Hiking:

Day 1: 5 miles river walking. 5 hours.
Day 2: 7.8 miles. 1,545; gain.
Day 3: Canyoneering. 2.3 miles. 459′ gain.
Day 4: 6.29 miles. 1,650′ gain.

Plus, optional side hikes of varying distances/elevation.

Please consider your ability to meet the physical demands very seriously. It is for the safety of both you and our group. All Explorer Chicks will be required to sign an Acknowledgement of Physical Demands as part of their waiver upon booking.

The itinerary was planned beautifully and my guides, Kirstie and Christina were also a pivotal part of the success of my trip. They both were confident and humble and had a wealth of knowledge and training that helped me trust the process and take healthy risks that I’d never taken before.

The description of the trip matched the experience so there were no surprises (except for all of us having to be flexible regarding Mother Nature’s weather plans).

The food was excellent - no frills but exactly what we all needed and everyone on the trip expressed happiness with our meals.

Mary brought the landscape to life with her deep knowledge of the area’s history and geology—plus, she never let us go too long without a fun facts and snacks break! Katie’s peaceful, grounding energy added a serene touch to the entire experience. The lunches they prepared for our hikes were not only delicious but thoughtfully crafted—we were thrilled they shared their recipes with us.

The campsite itself was a dream: charming glamping tents equipped with heat, electricity, and WiFi made for a cozy stay. After long hikes, soaking in the hot tub under the stars was the perfect way to unwind. And the food? The farm-to-table meals at the ranch restaurant were absolutely superb—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

This trip was the perfect blend of adventure, comfort, and soul-nourishing connection to nature. Highly recommended! Looking forward to my next adventure with Mary and Katie!

I got back from Zion and Bryce Canyon a few days ago and have been unable to stop talking about this phenomenal trip! Our guides, Kirstie and Mary, were nothing short of amazing. Every conceivable need was met during the trip. Constant words of encouragement and support as we all embraced challenges and grew both in confidence and strength. I cannot recommend this company enough. The women I met during this trip will hopefully remain lifelong friends, and I am already looking at booking my next trip. Had an amazing trip hiking in Zion and Bryce Canyon with a group of outgoing ladies and two incredibly funny, authentic and helpful guides - Lauren & Kirstie! There were tons of laughs, breathtaking views and some delicious food (a special shout out to the dinner at Cordwood!). Our guides, Christina and Ashley, made the trip so amazing and had little fun surprises set up for every day. I would take this trip time and time again, but I'm hoping after I take more EC trips!

Jayne and Steph were wonderful guides. They had so much knowledge and a great sense of humor! I was reluctant to go on this trip since it was my first real hike and it was a challenging one. The guides and other woman on the trip were all super supportive and I had a great time. The Bryce Canyon Hoodoos was at the top of my list, but it was all beautiful!

I just returned from the Explorer Chicks Zion Park and Bryce Canyon 4 day hiking trip and I highly recommend it! It was such a treat to be able to enjoy such beautiful nature without having to think about any of the logistics. Our tour guides, Hannah and Kayla were so personable and organized. They thought of every little detail and added so many special touches that made us feel so pampered. I loved the stunning views and the challenging (but totally doable) activities during the day. The accommodations were very comfortable. I left the tour feeling rejuvenated and recharged. It was the perfect trip! A group of 6 friends joined the Zion/Bryce Hiking adventure in Utah for one friends big birthday - a first hiking trip for many of us. What a life changing adventure we had - with two incredible and thoughtful guides (Kayla and Hannah). We were blown away by the sincere thoughtfulness and consideration that our guides had for our group in addition to the outstanding experience we had in the canyon.
