Youâll be greeted by your Explorer Chick Guides with an oïŹcial orientation to follow. Weâll then hop into our Explorer Chick Shuttle for a 4 hour transfer to Moab and the surrounding National Parks. Dolly Parton and Wilson Phillips singalongs are encouraged! Itâs a biggie drive, but weâre still getting our hike on. Throw on your daypack to walk a favorite trail surrounded by giant towers with views of the Colorado River. Though it sits outside of the National Parks, the trail is crazy-spectacular. Weâll then unpack at our Explorer Chick House for the next 3 days with views of the rocky mesas and red desert right out our windows. Distance: 4.4 miles Elevation Gain: 1,653âČ Hiking Time: 3 hours Transfer Time: 4 hours Accommodation: Explorer Chick House (Night 1 of 3) Meals: L-D Day 2 - Dead Horse Point State Park and Canyonlands National Park Itâs an extra early morning to snag the sunrise from the edge of Dead Horse Point State Park. Munch your breakfast and sip your coïŹee as the light wakes up the sky. After an unforgettable sunrise, weâll head over to Canyonlands National Park to tackle the steepest trail in the park â descending over 1,500 feet across 2.7 miles to the canyon plateau aka the best lunch spot in the park. Weâll likely be the only ones around as we feast like mighty She-Wolves. An intense hike back to the canyon rim will blast us up switchbacks along the cliïŹside â work those calves and earn that dinner! After a triumphant ïŹnish, weâll hop back in our SHE-nanigan Shuttle and pause at the best vista viewpoints the park has to oïŹer. Commence sweaty glamour shots. Hiking Distance: 5.4 miles Elevation Gain: 1,548âČ Hiking Time: 4-5 hours Accommodation: Explorer Chick House (Night 2 of 3) Meals: B-L-D Day 3 - Exploring Arches National Park and the Iconic Delicate Arch Weâll take our time exploring Arches National Park, with frequent shuttle stops to enjoy killer overlooks and trails â weâll even stop to do a Boomerang of you chasing a tumbleweed. Weâll wander between red sandstone walls and up massive rock formations seeking out some of the 2,000 arches in the National Park. Look up and geek out as you stand beneath picture perfect arches shaped by the same wind thatâs wicking your sweat. The most iconic hike is saved for sunset â Delicate Arch. There are no words to describe the glow of the Arch as the sun sets on our long day. Weâll gather in the âbowlâ to perch in awe (and snap a bajillion Glamour Shots). Hiking Distance: Varies 5-10 miles Elevation Gain: Varies 1,000-2,000âČ Hiking Time: All day Accommodation: Explorer Chick House (Night 3 of 3) Meals: B-L-D Day 4 - Slot Canyons and Goblin Valley Weâll hit the road ïŹrst thing to travel to the San Rafael Swell area and slay our ïŹrst slot canyon. A quick hike up a wash brings us to a canyon with towering walls. Run your hand along the waves etched in the walls by water and time. Nosh a picnic and marvel/giggle at the lesser known (but blatantly phallic) Goblin Valley State Park. Suggestive modeling is expected. After countless âThatâs What She Saidâ jokes, weâll make our way to Escalante via one of the worldâs most scenic roads â Highway 12. Over the next 3 hours, weâll drive through Capital Reef National Park and cross over the remote Henry Mountains, leaving time for plenty of overlook stop oïŹs. Then itâs full on Yurt Life for the next 2 nights! Hiking Distance: 8 miles Elevation Gain: 787âČ Hiking Time: 4 hours Transfer time: 2 Hours + 3 Hours Accommodation: Shared Yurts (Night 1 of 2) Meals: B-L-D Day 5 - Escalante and more Slot Canyons Hike through the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, where millions of years of wind and water have carved out a desert masterpiece. Yesterday was just the warm-up; todayâs slot canyons bring the drama. Twisting passageways, rippling rock walls, and narrow squeezes thatâll make your inner thrill-seeker do a hair flip. Weâll head back early afternoon to kick it at our cozy yurts. Sink into a porch chair with a cold drink, sprawl out on the couch, or take a catnap while the desert breeze does its thing. Still got gas in the tank? Thereâs always time for another quick hike before we clean up for a seriously memorable dinner where locally sourced ingredients and award-winning flavors meet high-desert magic. Yes, youâll ascend all 21 of Walterâs Wiggles to reach Scout Lookout. Weâll take a breather to sit in the stillness and take in the panoramic views of Zion Canyon and Virgin River before descending the trail to the series of natural pools and streams that make up the Upper and Lower Emerald Pools. Canyon views followed by an oasis? PINCH ME! After our climb down, weâll squeeze in as much trail time as we can before hopping our shuttle back to our luxurious Glamping Digs. Hiking Distance: 6.29 miles Elevation Gain: 1,650âČ Hiking Time: 4.5 â 5 hours Accommodation: Shared Glamping Tents (Night 2 of 2) Meals: B-L-D Day 8 - The Narrows and Farewell Utah Hold those tears back â we have one last epic hike! But today weâre exploring below the walls as we trek in the Virgin River. As the narrowest section of the canyon, the water levels can get deep, forcing intrepid Explorer Chicks to go for a swim. SOAK IT ALL IN GIRL! You earned this high after 8 days of gnarly hikes, belly laughs, and new friendships. Weâll hug it up and roll out to drive the 4:30 hours back to Salt Lake City. The courage in your heart and stank in your boots will buoy you until your next Explorer Chick adventure. Plan evening flight departures after 9pm. Hiking Distance: 5 miles Hiking Time: 5 hours Transfer time: 4:30 hours Meals: B-L NOTE: Hiking the Narrows is not guaranteed. Our guides, Savannah and Nicole took care of everything--transportation, meals, lodging, itinerary, permits, celebrations. Utah was beautiful; my explorer chick companions were capable and enthusiastic, and the memories I will carry with me forever. Book a trip, and get ready to hike with your (new) forever friends.Young J.1 year agoIt was my first trip with Explorer Chick. I honestly didn't have much expectation, but this trip blew my mind regarding the group travel with strangers! Kirstie and Christina made it so special and it was nice to have someone taking care of the group of women who always on the moves taking care of their own people. I didn't expect to have such good quality food and packed lunches on our hiking trip. Everything was so well organized and planned perfectly! Kirstie and Christina took great care of 10 women on our UT trip. They were the Yin and Yang perfect dynamic duo and I would love to do future Explore Chick trips with them again! One thing I felt bad for them was they had another group coming in the right next day of our trip didn't have time to recuperate at all. They had to drop us at the airport and hotel for the rest of the group then grocery shop for the next trip after 8pm!! All in all, what a wonderful trip! I would definitely come back again and can't wait for the next adventure! Nice job Explore Chick!!!Rachel K.1 year agoThis was my first trip with Explorer Chicks and I couldnât have dreamed of a better experience! It was so well organized and I was blown away with the trip; Iâm already wanting to plan my next one. Thank you for making it such a memorable experience! Iâm forever grateful.Dulcey R.1 year agoAmazing, amazing, amazing! Our trip leaders (AKA "Trail Moms") Kirstie and Christina, went above and beyond. Arches and Canyonlands were stunning backdrops for great, scenic hikes in the company of incredible women from around the country. It was better than I could have hoped for and I'm SO glad Kirstie and Christina were our phenomenal guides (the meals, surprises, prepped for anything at all times, and their mixture of calm and joy made it all just THAT much better). I'd 100% go again.Lori W.1 year agoCanât say enough about my explorer chick experience to Utah. 10/10, a must do, sign up today . As an added bonus- best leaders ever Kirstie and Christina!Heather B.1 year agoThis was an incredible trip from start to finish. I knew the scenery in Utah would be stunning, but I didn't expect to be so impressed with the care the guides put into the experience. Kirstie and Christina covered every base and walked the perfect line between keeping us comfortable and giving us challenges. If I could give 10 stars, I would!Sheri W.2 years agoJust completed my second trip with Explorer Chicks, and once again they have set the bar high! It was so relaxing having someone else do all of the planning, the meal preparation, the driving...and throughout the entire trip the guides were offering encouragement and support and delicious snacks! This trip was physically challenging with all of the hiking, but also a wonderful vacation as I got to see beautiful sights surrounded by friendly women and hear all about the national parks and the geology of this area. This trip far exceeded my expectations!Wendy I.3 years agoWhat an incredible adventure! Jessica & Jess guided us through spectacular canyons, amphitheaters, rivers, and trails across Utahâs National Parks, Monuments, State Parks, and BLMs. My two sisters and I created fantastic memories with amazing women during this 8-day journey.
