Las Vegas Climbing and Overnight Kayak Weekend Adventure

This isn’t your average Vegas weekend trip. This is a women-only, guide-led adventure trip, Explorer Chick Style! (That means packing your sequins and sports bras!)

After a night on the Strip, trade neon lights for rock climbing, kayaking, and overnight camping in Black Canyon. It’s a side of Vegas packed with grit, laughs, and desert magic—shared with adventurous women just like you.

Trip Highlights

• Stay in a 4-star hotel in Downtown Las Vegas near the action of Fremont Street
• Rock climb and scramble the towering sandstone walls of Red Rock Canyon
• Launch kayaks at the base of Hoover Dam with special access to Black Canyon
• Paddle 12 miles down the Lower Colorado River past hot springs, slot canyons, and the famous Emerald Cave
• Camp overnight on the beaches of the Colorado river under a billion stars

This adventure is for women who crave variety and thrive on new experiences, don’t flinch at a night spent in a sleeping bag, and who can trade room service for rock climbing without a second thought. This Vegas vacation is the best of both worlds: city life and outdoor adventure!

Arrival

• Airport City: Las Vegas, NV (LAS)
• Pick Up Location: Rendezvous Hotel
• Meeting Time: Check-in opens at 3pm. Meet at 6:30pm on Day 1

Departure

• Airport City: Las Vegas, NV (LAS)
• Drop Off Location: Rendezvous Hotel
• Return Time: Fly out after 9pm on Day 4

Special Permit Information:

The National Park Service strictly limits the number of people permitted to launch at the Hoover Dam to 45 people/day on our overnight kayak adventure. PERMITS WILL SELL OUT FOR THIS DATE.

Book your spot as soon as possible. Explorer Chick will secure your NPS Permit as soon as the trip minimum is met and permits become available to reserve. Please allow 6 months prior to departure for confirmation of kayaking permits.

Optional Add-Ons: Limited Single Hotel Room and Tent upgrades are available at booking.

You will receive a Travel Guide with all the rendezvous hotel, packing, and additional information you’ll need to prepare for your epic trip.

We require a minimum of 5 Explorer Chicks for this trip. Please confirm your trip is guaranteed before booking airfare.

Rated 2 – MODERATE ACTIVE

This trip is rated as Moderate Active. All activities are geared toward beginners. Rock climbing intensity can be as high or little as your prefer. The kayaking portion is on moving flatwater that can change in intensity based on wind conditions. You’ll also enjoy a couple short hikes to hot springs and slot canyons while on the river.

Daily Activities:

• Day 2: Full day rock climbing. 20 minute hike to wall.
• Day 3: Kayaking. 6 hours. 7 miles.
• Day 4: Kayaking. 6 hours. 7 miles.

Please consider your ability to meet the physical demands very seriously. It is for the safety of both you and our group. All Explorer Chicks will be required to sign an Acknowledgement of Physical Demands as part of their waiver upon booking.

Lodging

• 2 Nights in a 4 Star Downtown Las Vegas Hotel and Casino on Fremont Street. Shared 2 per room. Access to a super cool pool and the Fremont Experience out the front door.
• 1 Night Camping in Black Canyon. Shared 2 per tent. Includes a Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Sleeping Mat, and shared camping supplies. Dry bags for personal belongings provided.

Activities

• Entrance and commercial permit fees to all National Parks and public lands
• Permit and special access to launch kayaks at Hoover Dam
• All activities as outlined in the itinerary
• Gratuities for all excursions
