Photos Itinerary Expand All Days Day 1 - Hiking Canyonlands National Park Today begins at 7am at our Rendezvous Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT. We’ve got A LOT to do today, so be sure to eat a hearty breakfast before meeting up with the group. You’ll be greeted by your Explorer Chick Guides in the morning with a quick orientation to follow. (No trust falls, we promise.) We’ll then hop into the SHE-nanigan Shuttle for the 4-hour private transfer to Moab and the parks. We won’t waste any time as we shimmy into our daypacks and slather on chapstick to explore three gorgeous trails at Canyonlands National Park. Our trek includes thoughtfully placed cairns, breathtaking desert views, and a hot debate about the mystery of Upheaval Dome. Once we’re good and sweaty, we’ll unpack and relax at our Explorer Chick House. This oasis is home for the next 4 days with views of rocky mesas and the colorful desert right outside your windows. Did we mention there’s a pool? In just six hours, you’ll strut your stuff over a plethora of rock scrambles and tackle a trio of rappels, with the biggest one soaring at around 130 feet. Getting spicy pits? This route is perfect for beginners with no experience. Just show up willing to go ALL IN and let gravity do the hard work. Dinosaur tracks, a sweeping secluded arch, and plenty of nature’s own obstacle courses pepper your path through this desert adventure. Watch the sunlight disco-dance on the red rock walls and listen to the cheers of your fellow Explorer Chicks echoing through the canyons. Soak it all in as we enjoy our trail lunch with ridiculous views. Shake off that red dirt and grab your headlamp. We’re off to watch the sun drop it like it’s hot behind the iconic Delicate Arch. It was beyond wonderful to show up without planning anything and have four amazing days in the Moab desert. Every detail was well thought out from the hikes, to accommodations, to meals. Although I booked this trip with friends, I would totally do a future trip alone knowing I would share the experience with fun, open, and adventurous women. Thank you! I only wish I was still on the mountains.Dara D.I had an amazing experience on my first Explorer Chick adventure, 4 days of hiking in Arches and Canyonlands NPs with Moab as our home base. The trip exceeded my expectations. Everything was so well organized and smoothly handled by our two fabulous guides, Jeannie and Keziah. They took care of every detail so we could just soak up every moment, on and off the trails. They spoiled us with surprises, cooked delicious and plentiful meals, and kept communication clear and easy the whole time. Honestly, I don’t know how the trip could’ve been any better. Jeannie and Keziah were the heart and soul of it all, not only making every activity that much more fun and memorable, but also helping a group of mostly strangers quickly feel like old friends.Mary CMy trip to Moab was stellar! Accommodations, activities and food were all excellent. I saw the beautiful landscape as advertised, but I actually received something even better- the bond of new friendships. Our guides Mary and Stephanie facilitated the whole trip like the pros they are. I can hardly wait for my next outing with Explorer Chicks!💕Missy S.I've been home a little over a week from the Moab and Arches National Parks Hiking Weekend, and I can't stop thinking about it! Our guides, Christina and Kayla, were amazing, and took great care of us. I'm a little (A LOT) scared of heights, and they literally held my hand at times. I ended the trip feeling accomplished and exhausted, in the best way, and made memories that will last for the rest of my life. I saw parts of the parks that I would have never seen on my own. If you're on the fence about signing up for an Explorer Chick trip, let this be your sign to hop off that fence and sign up now!Dulcey R.Amazing, amazing, amazing! Our trip leaders (AKA "Trail Moms") Kirstie and Christina, went above and beyond. Arches and Canyonlands were stunning backdrops for great, scenic hikes in the company of incredible women from around the country. It was better than I could have hoped for and I'm SO glad Kirstie and Christina were our phenomenal guides (the meals, surprises, prepped for anything at all times, and their mixture of calm and joy made it all just THAT much better). I'd 100% go again.Kbeck P.I have now taken two trips with Explorer Chicks and have another coming up in August. Most recently I participated in the Moab multi-sport and had such an incredible experience. Each EC trip is carefully curated without missing a single detail. From the travel itself, the ample food and snacks, the logistics and fun add ins, our guides were so knowledgeable about the parks and geography, even the pickiest guest on our trip was vocally very satisfied. The condo accommodations were wonderful and very clean; did I mention the food? The guides packed lunches for us to eat on the hikes and they were WONDERFUL...and a healthy breakfast each AM at the condos were delightful!I often look for solo trips with like-minded women and guides, Explorer Chick delivers every time. My only word to the wise is to pay attention to the physical requirements of each trip as if you are unable to meet the physical requirements, it can hurt the experience for others. That was not the case on this trip, the hikes and experiences were thoroughly enjoyed by all (Level-2) and the canyoneering and ATV-ing were absolutely wonderful and our group enjoyed every minute of these experiences on our trip. I can't wait until my next EC trip!!!Quincy S.How can a person rate or review what finding a little bit peace and clarity is like?I have had the pleasure of being on two EC trips since October 2024.My first trip was in October of 2024 to Moab with guides Katie and Nikki. That trip changed my life.It is my belief that everyone signing up for an EC trip is searching for something. It just happens to be a little different for everyone.I happened to be searching for me.Who would have guessed that I would find her in the quiet and in the beauty of Utah with a group of strangers. That trip reminded me that I am not just a wife, and momma. It helped me to filter out most of the crap floating around in my head and just focus on me for a few days.My second trip with EC was in September of this year with Christina and Nikki in Yosemite.Christina and Nikki, were the perfect guides for that trip, they were just what I needed. (shoutout to Nikki for being on my last trip and remembering that I love to eat PB sammies on white bread while I hike!)Yosemite with all of the women on that trip was an experience I will never forget, because I almost didn’t go.But I am so glad that I did.I needed all of it, the adventure, the laughs, the beauty, and the opportunity to feel a little more like myself.Pressing pause on home life and getting out of your comfort zone takes some courage, but with the help of EC and some absolute kick ass women I did it and so can you.Thank you, EC, for helping me find a little more of myself of these amazing trips.QuincyHelene M.Had an incredible experience hiking in Moab and Arches National Park.
