MSR Ceramic 2-Pot Set Key Features
Alongside the MSR Ceramic 2-Pot Set’s durable and reliable design, it has a whole heap of outstanding features that outdoor enthusiasts are sure to be thankful for.
Hard Anodized Aluminum Pot Set
At the heart and soul of the MSR Ceramic 2-Pot Set is its hard, anodized aluminum pot material. This material creates an even cooking surface that is scratch resistant, non-stick, and non-porous. It’s also durable, lightweight, and releases heat quickly and evenly to produce top-notch gourmet meals that you’d swear have been cooked in an indoor kitchen.
Fusion® Ceramic Nonstick Coating
Complimenting the anodized aluminum material is a ceramic nonstick coating. The MSR Ceramic 2-Pot Set’s Fusion Ceramic Nonstick coating offers superior nonstick performance and is both environmentally and health-friendly. It’s free of PTFE and PFOA, both potentially harmful chemicals found in many nonstick cookware products. The coating is also free of lead and cadmium, which are found in low-quality brass and ceramic coated camping cookware.
Talon™ Pot Handles
MSR 2-Pot Set Talon™ Pot Handles make storing your cookware simple and easy. With their fold-down design, you can store them in a compact area without taking up too much space. They are also convenient to use, making it easy to lift your camp cookware off your camp stove. This eliminates the risk of burning or scalding your hands.
While out on the trails, straining water off certain cooked staples like noodles, pasta, and boiled veggies can be a real pain. Although thanks to the conveniently placed straining holes, the MSR Ceramic 2-Pot Set’s lid not only works as a method of storing this camping cookware, but it also doubles up as an ergonomically designed strainer.
Mountain Safety Research (MSR) offers a 3-year limited warranty for all of its products. As long as your MSR product was purchased from an authorized dealer, MSR will repair or replace the product free if the product proves defective because of poor workmanship or materials.
How to clean pots and pans while camping?
There are several ways to clean pots and pans while camping. The easiest is to make use of the surrounding natural environment. Simply use a little creek water and sand to clean your cooking supplies. Although, as effective as this can be for uncoated cookware, we wouldn’t recommend using abrasive surfaces on coated cookware. This is because, overtime, it will scratch and wear it away. A better method is to make a simple dish soap in the wilderness. To do this, simply carry a small satchel of baking soda and couple it with a little water and some old-fashioned elbow grease.
What size pots and pans is best for family camping?
As a rule of thumb, you’ll likely want at least two individual pots or pans to cook on. For one, lunch is often accompanied by a nice hot coffee or cup of tea. There’s no time for cooking, washing, coffee brewing, and washing again – that sucks! Also, if you’re sauteing veggies and want to cook rice, a second pot is very handy for your noodles or rice. One big pot and one medium-sized pot works great. Both pots or pans should be at least 1.5l, that way nobody in your family will go hungry.
MSR manufactures a variety of different sized cookware sets, but the MSR Ceramic 2-Pot Set is what we use for our backpacking and overseas trips. The MSR Ceramic 2-Pot Set is made of very lightweight materials, yet is still durable enough to last you a very long time. The pots feel strong and have a well-designed non-stick surface, making it easy to cook and clean. Plus, they also stack conveniently inside each other, making them incredibly easy to store.
We absolutely love our MSR Ceramic 2-Pot Sets.
We’ve used them extensively through the Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Parks and they’ve performed without fail while trekking and exploring these iconic destinations.
