Every trip page has a dedicated section, “What’s Included,” detailing what is and is not included in the tour price.

Explorer Chick prides itself in curating trips for women who live an active, healthy lifestyle. What this means is we tackle the big climbs, the long trails, the bucket lists, and the uncomfortable.
All of our trips are rated on a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 being the most difficult. For a detailed explanation of our rating system, please visit HERE.
On our main menu, you can search by Activity Level so you can find the right trip for you.
Each trip page has a section, “Activity Level” that identifies the trip level AND details the physical demands including mileage, elevations, and additional factors when available .
You are responsible for reading the physical demands and ultimately deciding if you are physically capable of participating in your selected trip.
All Explorer Chicks will be required to initial an Acknowledgement of Physical Demands in our waiver. This is for you and your group’s safety.
Yes!!! This company was founded because of a need to travel but having no traveling partner. Trips are exclusive to women and it will not be long before you are making new friends. We pride ourselves in creating a sense of community through designing trips with many shared challenges.
We do not charge single supplement fees. Instead, we’ll randomly room you with other women on the trip.
If you do dig some alone time at the end of your day, most of our trips have a single room upgrade. If available for a trip, you will be given the option to upgrade during check-out.

Yes, if available.
Single room upgrade options are detailed on each trip page under the “Logistics” section if available. These are often limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. If sold out, then the option will not be available at booking.
Not every trip has a single supplement option and some trips only have partial single supplement options. For example, a portion of your trip could be in a hotel where you can upgrade and then moves to mountain huts which by nature are group dormitories where single options do not exist.
Explorer Chick does not charge a forced single fee for solo travelers. This is strictly an option for any traveler who wishes to upgrade to her own room.
The only age limit is over 21. Generally, you’ll find travelers in their 30’s through 60’s on all of our trips.
There is only knowing your body and choosing the appropriate experience.
Every trip page rates and details the physical demands required. If in doubt, check with your doctor, do some stair climber conditioning to Rihanna, and hike up those compression socks!
Read more about our Pro Age Travel.
We require all travelers to be women over the age of 21 at the time of travel. No exceptions.
This in consideration of all of our travelers, the group as a whole, and their motivations for booking an Explorer Chick trip – to be surrounded and supported by other adult women and to leave the demands of reality at home.
We design our menus in best efforts to accommodate dietary restrictions; however, we may be unable to meet all needs. Please be prepared to supplement our included meals if needed.
Each registration form has a space for you to detail any dietary restrictions. You must advise Explorer Chick of any specific requests. We do ask that you specify if allergies, preferences, intolerances as well as the severity. Only so we can be mindful of cross contamination.
Your guide or our team may reach out prior to your trip for clarification so we can menu plan accordingly.
In general, we will always be able to accommodate Vegetarian, Gluten Sensitive, and Dairy-Free diets.
Explorer Chicks will have to manage their diet for non-included meals and additional nutritional needs. You know your body and needs best, please plan accordingly.

National Parks and Public Land Agencies have high standards when issuing permits to commercial operators which includes guide certifications, insurance coverage requirements, operating plans, evacuation plans, etc. Explorer Chick is proudly a permitted commercial operator in good standing on all public lands where we operate.
We also occasionally partner with other operators for our adventures. Our partners may have expertise beyond our own (rafting, climbing, surf, etc) or local destination expertise. We vet our partners through a standardized set of questions regarding their safety protocols and referrals from our trusted industry network. We consider all of our partners an extension of our team.
For all of our trips, you will always have at least one Explorer Chick employee and the trips are exclusively for Explorer Chick. Your Explorer Chick Guide’s role is to ensure the trip runs smoothly, manage group dynamics, and be your advocate while traveling.
Basically, all you have to do is show up. Our Dream Team takes it from there.

Tips that are NOT included in your tour price:
Why aren’t EC Guide(s) tips included in the trip price? Allowing guides to accept tips is customary in the tour industry and for good reason. It encourages our Explorer Chick Guides to provide you with exceptional service. Plus, our Explorer Chicks enjoy the opportunity to recognize guide(s) personally for their hard work.
Tipping your Explorer Chick Guide(s) is optional, but customary. We recommend 10-20% of your trip cost. Gratuities may be given to one guide—the team divides tips among themselves after the trip.
Most of our Explorer Chick Guides have Paypal and/or Venmo. Just ask her!
You can read our full tipping guidelines here.

Warning – Radical candor incoming: Some women kinda suck. You know the types, and we do not hold space for them in our community.
We have a Zero Tolerance Policy when it comes to Mean Girls and Debbie Downers.
Explorer Chicks are kind, supportive, and welcoming.
If you are a Debbie Downer that loves to complain, do not book an adventure with us. Debbie Downers not only ruin their vacation, but can quickly have an averse effect on everyone else’s trip. Bad attitudes are cancerous to our group dynamics and just disrespectful.
Mean Girls are also invited to stay home. Bullying, egos, and hurtful trash talk is the fastest way to be removed from an adventure. They will not be tolerated.
Our guides are Explorer Chick Advocates. We will remove Debbie Downers and Mean Girls from a trip because the group’s overall experience is our priority – we will not cater to nor bend to please the never satisfied, persistent complainers, meanies, or down right miserable people. (That being said, we understand everyone has a bad day! This happens. We’ll work through it!).
No problem. Send us an email: Hello@explorerchick.com.
We’re pretty swift to reply, but please allow up to 1 business day for us to respond.
